    Garden City Regional Airport is located along U.S. Highway 50/400, nine miles southeast of Garden City. Owned and operated by the City of Garden City, the airport is classified as a primary commercial service airport. Garden City Regional Airport provides commercial service with daily flights to and from Dallas/Fort Worth. It is ideally situated to accommodate air service demand for the Southwestern Kansas region and serves 50,000 passengers annually. The airport also supports a wide variety of commercial and general aviation uses including charter flights, air cargo operations, corporate aviation, pilot training, air ambulance, and leisure flying. Garden City Regional Airport serves an estimated 20,000 annual take-offs and landings. It also currently has 60 based aircraft. An air traffic control tower is manned daily between 0700 and 2100 hours.


    The geographic coordinates of the Airport Reference Point (ARP) are latitude 37"55.65' N and longitude 100"43.47' W. The airport elevation is 2,890 feet above Mean Sea Level (MSL).


    The airport encompasses approximately 1,850 acres of land located on the southwest side of U.S. Highway 50, which traverses south-central Kansas en route to ultimate connections with Hutchinson (Kansas), Kansas City (Missouri) to the east,  Lamar (Colorado), Pueblo (Colorado) and Grand Junction (Colorado) to the west. Major highways providing access to the airport are U.S. Highways 50/400 and 83, and Kansas State Highways 23 and 156.

    Garden City Public Transportation

    FINNEY COUNTY TRANSIT (FIT) operates Monday through Friday from 6am - 7pm with all buses returning to the Transit Center at 7pm. Lift buses with state of the art 4-point tie down securement systems are available to serve the general public, disabled and elderly of Finney County.

     

    Whether you need transportation for medical purposes, shopping, work, volunteering, beauty shop, visiting a sick friend, recreation, physical fitness or adult education to name a few, they are here to ensure you get there safely and on time.

    Their professional drivers are trained to provide safe transportation and will assist with wheelchair boarding/de-boarding and securement.
