Finney County Young Professionals will help spread the green in Garden City.

On Saturday, March 15 (rain date March 22), the Finney County Young Professionals will work with the Garden City Recreation and Parks Department with their plans to plant a new tree nursery on the east end of Finnup Park. In a few years, as the trees have matured a bit, they city plans to plant the trees in public areas elsewhere in the community. This event almost coincides with Johnny Appleseed Day, a day devoted to honoring the legendary missionary who is best known for planting apple trees wherever he roamed, and the FCYP’s are excited to follow along in Johnny Appleseed’s footsteps.
