Three Leadership Opportunities in 2008
The Garden City Leadership Board is offering three leadership
opportunities in 2008. Common Ground, which is for program graduates, is
where the 21st Century leadership skills and capacities learned in Every
Voice are combined with the people, businesses, organizations and
community issues of Garden City, along with some experience with the
legislative process in Topeka. Common Ground will start January 24 and
continue with five other sessions on February 12 & 13, March 27, April
10 & 24 with a graduation ceremony the evening of April 24, 2008. This
program is limited to 16 participants and the registration deadline is
January 14.
Then, in the summer and fall the Every Voice program, which focuses on
developing servant leaders with 21 Century skills and capacities for
communicating and working with other people, will be offered again. The
skills and capacities are useful individually, at home, at work, and in
every situation where you interact with other people. The traditional
concept of leadership being a person in a position with authority is
expanded to consider that leadership is also serving other people and
helping them to succeed.
For more information for both these programs, please see the insert in
this month's newsletter. Applications can be obtained by calling the
Chamber at 620-276-3264 or e-mailing chamber@gcnet.com. Do not miss
these opportunities to take your leadership skills to another level.
