FINNEY COUNTY JOB FAIR
For over 6 years, the Chamber has held the Finney County Job Fair in
conjunction with our partners, Finney County Economic Development
Corporation, Garden City Community College and the Kansas Department of
Commerce. The Chamber is extremely please to offer this opportunity again to
the business community and jobseekers. We've added some new features to this
years' Job Fair to make it even more successful than previous fairs.
The Job Fair is scheduled April 22 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Clarion Inn
& Conference Center. New to the schedule this year will is the " How to Land
a Job" seminar April 16 from 3-4 pm at Garden City Community College, this
is an opportunity for job seekers to perfect their resume and interview
skills before the job fair so they are better prepared. The Kansas
Department of Commerce will also have the Mobile Lab available to
participants offering computer assistance for NationJob, KansasWorks.com
connections, and resume writing.
The job fair is ideal for companies recruiting employees for entry level,
mid-level and professional positions. In addition to attracting recent high
school and college graduates, the fair also draws potential applicants from
the ranks of job seekers hoping to advance their careers or make changes in
their current employment. For employers, the job fair provides an excellent
chance to meet and talk face to face with a number of potential employees.
Admission to the job fair is $50 for employers and free to jobseekers. The
last Job Fair had offerings for more than 300 jobs from more than 40
employers. Employers are telling us they need more talented workers. The
Chamber has focused on this critical community issue for years. The Job Fair
provides a forum that brings workers and employers together, and is another
way that your Chamber is serving you, our members. If your business is
hiring employees, the job fair is a perfect venue to find your new
employees.
