The Finney County Convention & Tourism Bureau and Tumbleweed
Festival, Inc. are teaming up again to bring you another great weekend
of fun and flying in Garden City. Come out early for the "Party at
Sunrise" at the Fairgrounds Exhibition Parking Lot on Saturday and
Sunday and don't miss the evening launch on Friday and attend the
beautiful Balloon Glow on Saturday evening and enjoy a free watermelon
feed courtesy of Bank of the West.
The Tumbleweed Festival has a great variety of musical entertainment
on two stages and children's entertainment stage and activities tent and
lots of other fun activities. Of course there will be lots of lip
smacking food booths from which to choose. Bring a chair, hat, and
sunscreen, sit back and enjoy the show! The festival is located directly
east across the street from the balloon launch on the west end of Lee
Richardson Zoo.
The Chamber of Commerce and the Convention and Tourism Bureau have
added a new twist to the weekend. On Saturday, August 24th there will be
the second annual Pig Gig. The Pig Gig consists of a pig roast that will
coincide with a beer garden and live entertainment. The Pig Gig begins
at 6pm and with entertainment from 8pm to 11pm. Please join
us at the 3i Parking Lot to enjoy these fun events.
