Marketing Through the Chamber

Great Ways to Market Your Business Using Your Chamber Membership

Newsletter Marketing Opportunities

These member services are made available for you to reach other Chamber members. They are an excellent way to target a desirable market that no one else can offer you. A Chamber newsletter insert or display ad is cost effective and affordable

Inserts

Supply 850 copies of your message (3 x 5" Index up to 8 1/2" X 11") and we'll insert it in the newsletter, mailed directly to the entire Chamber membership.

Investment: $90.00 per piece (maximum 3 per member in a given month).

Deadline: Newsletter inserts must be submitted to the Chamber Office by the last day of each month.

The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to refuse any or all of the insert material for any reason. This is a service to our paid member businesses and organizations. We will not accept insert material from outside the membership rolls, unless the offer or information presents a direct benefit to our membership, and does not compete with any member business. For additional information, call the Chamber office 276-3264.

Display Ads

Display ads are located at the bottom of the interior pages of the newsletter. Size is approximately 1.75" square. Ads are rotated each issue to appear in different locations during the year.

Investment: $360 per year for first year runs, only $300 per year renewal (12 issues). (12 issues)

Business Spotlight

The business spotlight is an article written about your company with an accompanying photograph or your logo. The text is approximately half a page in length and is written by the Chamber staff. Business spotlights are limited to one per issue.

Investment: $75

Breakfasts and Beverage Sponsorships

Membership Breakfast

There are twelve Chamber Membership Breakfasts in a year. They are scheduled every month of the year on the third Wednesday of the month. The format is lively and the sponsor gets about ten (10) minutes to tell the crowd about his or her business. Other agenda items includes the introduction of new members, Chamber activities, Chamber news, and Economic Developments. It is the perfect venue for a new business to start its marketing program or for an established business to introduce a new product or service. Sponsorships are reserved on a strictly first-come basis.

Investment: $150, with $50 used as a cash door prize to be given away during the Breakfast.

Beverage Sponsorships

We combat the rising cost of providing coffee, soft drinks and bottled water to members and guests by making it a fabulous benefit - Beverage Sponsorships! This gem benefit helps the Chamber pay for the drinks while you soak up the marketing perks.

Beverage Sponsors get a large ad/mention in the newsletter, signage in four locations in the Chamber office (including the Board Room) and a mention from the podium during the Chamber Breakfast. You just can't beat a deal like that.

Investment: $75 (no limit to the number of months you can buy).

Gift Certificate Program

The Chamber's Gift Certificate program is on of the longest-running membership benefits that we offer our retail members. The program is simple and costs you nothing unless it works for you. Chamber gift certificates are printed in house with participation members in good standing, right on the certificate. It's free advertising until it makes your cash register ring.

The Chamber will redeem 95% of the $10 or $25 certificates when you bring them down to us. You can also just mail them back and we'll mail you a check. The 5% that the Chamber keeps offsets costs for the program. There is a six-month expiration date from the date of purchase.

The Chamber gift certificate program keeps around $250,000 in our market area every year - and people from out-of-town buy a huge amount of them to give as Christmas presents to their friends that live in Garden City and Holcomb. We also sell an appreciable amount to our corporate members as employee bonuses.

Investment:
5% of each redeemed certificate.

Annual Meeting (Banquet)

Each year, the Annual Meeting is a chance for members and prospective members to gather, have a nice meal, and learn what the Chamber has done and plans to do. The event is held in the first part of the year in the Garden City Plaza Hotel banquet rooms. Member involvement includes:

Corporate Tables: A table of 10 seats -- $300

Meal Underwriting: Negotiable

Individual Tickets: $25 each

Chamber Newcomer Packet Inserts

The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce provides newcomer packets to anyone who is coming to the Garden City Area. These packets are requested by phone, through the internet, and in person. Membership in the Garden City Area Chamber gives you the opportunity to use the newcomer packets as a networking tool.

Why should I advertise in the Newcomer Packets?

  • Newcomers are not aware of businesses and services offered in the Garden City area.
  • Your business is in front of the prospect before any of your competitors.
  • What other way could you be guaranteed to reach new customers?

Garden City Newcomer Packet Guidelines

  1. Provide the Chamber with 200 marketing brochures (no larger than 8.5" x 11").
  2. Deliver your brochures to the chamber office no later than the 25th of your first month.
  3. Participation in the program requires a six month commitment.
  4. Investment is $150 ($25 per month) for 6 months and must be payed in advance.

The Plan Room

The Plan Room consists of ordering construction blueprints and specifications for the purpose of job bidding. Chamber member firms form a "pool" to provide this service. Their investment helps cover the cost of postage, shipping, long distance calls and related expenses.

How The Plan Room Works:

  • The Chamber office receives plans automatically from some architects and will order other blueprints upon the request of a Plan Room member. The Plan Room member provides the name and location of the project and the name and address of the architect. We call the architect requesting the blueprints for our Plan Room.
  • When a set of plans is received, each member will receive a notice stating that the plans are available through the Plan Room. The first member to request a particular set of plans is first to use them. The second to request is second to use them, and so on.
  • Any plans checked out to a member will be chargeable to that member until released by this office and so indicated in a record book. A set of plans may be checked out for no longer than two days. The plans may be re-checked if there are no other members on the list, otherwise your name may be added to the bottom of the list.
  • Members must pick up plans the same day they are notified. If plans are not picked up in a reasonable time, their name will be placed at the end of the list and the next member who requested the plans will be contacted.
  • Each user must return plans to the Plan Room on schedule. Plans are not to be passed from one member to another without being returned to the Plan Room. To insure proper priority sequence, we cannot advise other members as to who has the plans at a particular time.
Investment: $50.00
