PLAZA MEDICAL CENTER JOINS CENTURA HEALTH
Health system continues to expand in western Kansas
Garden City, KS. – (September 5, 2018) –Centura Health is pleased to announce the joining of Plaza Medical Center (PMC) to Centura Health Physician Group, a multi-specialty group in Colorado and Kansas. The four physicians at Plaza voted to join Centura Health, combining their medical expertise with those of Siena Medical Clinic, Women’s Clinic, Ulysses Family Physicians and Dodge City Medical Center.
"We are thrilled that the physicians of Plaza Medical unanimously chose to partner with Centura Health,” St. Catherine Hospital (SCH) President and CEO, Scott Taylor said. “Their decision to pursue this affiliation reflects a growing number of providers and community leaders across Kansas, Kansas, all voluntarily seeking a vibrant partnership with Centura Health. Together we all share a vision - Every community, every neighborhood, every life - whole and healthy.” Taylor also oversees the Centura Health in Kansas. SCH is part of the Centura family.
PMC providers believe being part of a larger ecosystem will be beneficial to their clinic. Some of these benefits include the ability to collaborate with physicians across western Kansas and an opportunity to develop new delivery models of health. Centura Health is a physician facing system committed to investing in the growth and development of caregivers, facilities and information technology to benefit patient experience. For example, one Electronic Medical Record (EMR) will be available to patients with seamless and real-time access to test results, important reminders and much more. Existing patients will continue with their provider at their current location.
“We have enjoyed a long standing, close relationship with St. Catherine Hospital. Recently, I had the opportunity to learn more about Centura Health and what they bring to western Kansas. We all feel that together, we can improve care in our connected communities,” PMC, Senior Physician, Nathan Strandmark said. “Over the last few months we have been able to work closely with their team, and are excited for the opportunity this partnership will provide for both Plaza Medical and our patients.” Echoed PMC Physician, Bryan Stucky.
While both health care providers and consumers face increasing challenges, this new relationship better equips all to navigate the hurdles ahead. By combining resources, SCH and PMC are now positioned to be better partners in supporting health, well-being and delivering whole person care.
