"MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS"
Cyber Security 2017
was the theme for the 2017 Chamber Annual Banquet, presented by Tyson Fresh Foods.  It convened inside the Courtyard of Horace Good Middle School, 1412 Main Street on Thursday, March 9th.

Each year the Chamber looks to recognize its membership for their support and dedication to the community by bringing them together for a night of fine dining and entertainment.  "There are so many things to be proud of in our community and our businesses are a big part of it, said Steve Dyer, Chamber president. The banquet gives us a chance to recognize and celebrate the wonderful accomplishments achieved throughout the year.

In keeping with tradition, the Chamber presented the esteemed "Award of Merit" to Donna Tanner, Commerce Bank.  She is a citizen that has exceeded the standards in her commitment to the Chamber and its goal of promoting local business.  This year marked the 33rd year of the award, which was kept secret from the recipient until the night of the event.  We will also celebrated Jeana Anliker, Coldwell Banker, The Real Estate Shoppe as the "Ambassador of the Year" for her contribution to the Chamber as an Ambassador.

For the 4th year, the Chamber presented four awards to recognize local businesses for their outstanding entrepreneurial achievements, successes and contribution to the community.  Companies and individuals were nominated for these awards by Chamber members, employees and through self-nominations.  Finalists and winners were determined by the Chamber's selection committee following a specific set of criteria.  The Chamber recognized businesses from four following categories:  Coldwell Banker, The Real Estate Shoppe - Small Business of the Year (1-20 employees); Samy's Enterprises -Business of the Year (20+ employees); Wellespring Family Healthcare - Emerging Business of the Year; and Western Kansas Community Foundation - Non-Profit of the Year.
