All 40 State Senators and all 125 State Representatives are invited to the event organized by the Southwest Kansas Chambers of Commerce comprised of Dodge City Area Chamber, Grant County Chamber, Liberal Chamber and Garden City Area Chamber. Gold Sponsors for the evening include AT&T, Finney County Convention and Tourism Bureau, Palmer Manufacturing and Tank, Rok Hard Ready Mix, Tatro Plumbing and Western State Bank. Silver sponsors include Cox Communication, and St. Catherine Hospital. All southwest Kansas business people and community leaders are invited and encouraged to attend. No reservations are needed.

"It's exciting to host this first-of-a-kind event in the history of the State of Kansas where an entire region of the state is working together for the betterment of the region," says Paul Joseph, President of the Southwest Kansas Chambers and President of the Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce. "The more relationship building we can provide, the more successful our regional legislative delegation can be. Central and eastern Kansas state legislators will meet face-to-face with our Southwest Kansas leaders building trust and camaraderie. It allows them to see and hear our needs and see us for who we are," he added.

This first annual Topeka outing is the second of two recent events organized to represent the business and the political interests of Southwest Kansas and place them in front of state-wide legislators. The first event was the annual legislative dinner held in Southwest Kansas in November that honored and welcomed the state's legislators to the region the night before an annual pheasant hunt.

The purpose of The Southwest Kansas Chambers of Commerce is to combine the strengths of the local Chambers of Commerce in Southwest Kansas, to provide a positive impact on growth and development in the region by addressing regional issues, legislative concerns and internal issues within individual Chambers while maintaining the individuality of the local Chambers.

If your business or organization is interested in sponsoring either of the two annual events, contact Paul Joseph at the Garden City Area Chamber at (620) 276-3264.
