2012 Brown Bag Series - The Finney County Museum will have presentations in the in the meeting room at 403 S 4th, 12-1PM with refreshments provided. The presentation will be "The Halls of Academia-Moving into the Future", and presented by Roy Cessna, USD #457, Coordinator of Public Information. With the anticipation of the GC High School move into the new building, there comes change, not only for the students, but for the community residents as well. Mr. Cessna will take you in a virtual tour of the new High School and explain the changes that will be made to better prepare, educate and provide for the student's future. 45th Annual GCCC Intercollegiate Rodeo - Horse Palace Indoor Arena, Finney County Fairgrounds, featuring more than 400 National Intercollegiate Rodeo Assoc. competitors from Kansas and Oklahoma. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children 6-12. Performance at 7:30 pm with subsequent performances at 7:30, March 3 and 1:30 March 4.

How to Work with Logic Models - You will learn a method to help with: Designing Strategic Plans, Writing Concise grant Applications, Decision Making, Planning, Evaluation and Writing Action Plans. Presented by Debra Bolton, Ph.D., Extension Specialist at the Salvation Army, 216 N 9th from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. The cost is $20 for materials and lunch. Free Car Seat Safety Check - American Family Insurance, Tina Barton Agency, 409 N Campus Dr. A trooper from the Kansas Highway Patrol will be here from 1-3 pm. to check car seats for anyone interested. It is free to the public.

Second Annual "Chair-ish the Children" Event - This year the live auction will include chairs, foot stools, bar stools and a storage bench. This will be at the Clarion Hotel & Convention Center, 7 pm is social hour (2 complimentary wine or beer), 8 pm is the buffet dinner with the auction to follow. Tickets in advance are $30, there are tables of 8, sit with your friends or reserve a table. Tickets at the door will be $35. Spring Volunteer Training - Aside from the horses, volunteers are the single most important part of the program. If you have a few hours of time and the desire to do something positive for your community, Miles of Smiles needs you! Any amount of time given is well spent, and as the program grows, they need more volunteers for a variety of duties. If you are not able to donate your time, there are ways to help financially.
